Professional images of your work are essential to promote your practice as an artist and secure exhibitions, grants, and other professional opportunities. This workshop will cover the basic techniques you need to take professional photographs of flat works (e.g. paintings, drawings, photographs) and three-dimensional pieces (e.g. sculptures, ceramics) on smartphones and/or advanced digital cameras.

The course will introduce essential equipment such as cameras, tripods, and studio lighting, practice their use, and discuss the individual set up you need to document the beautiful objects you create.

Artist Facilitator Biography:
Joachim Froese is an art photographer living and working in Brisbane and Berlin who has exhibited widely across Australia, Europe, Asia and North America. His work is included in numerous public collections including the National Gallery of Australia, the National Portrait Gallery of Australia, and the Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art. Joachim is an experienced teacher who has taught photography at universities, high schools, and community events.
